Purpose:

To add revenue by creating sustainable, mutually beneficial relationships with prospects.

Accountabilities:

  • Ongoing cultivation of prospects
  • Follow leads to produce real sales results
  • Documentation of sales activities on Workamajig
  • Bring forth high quality prospects

Tasks:

Agency and New Business Practices
  • New business acquisition, together with the business development team
    • Identification and solicitation of prospects
    • Cold calling and event prospecting
    • Development and presentation of proposals
    • Structuring the service and compensation relationship
  • Listen to activities of prospects via Google alerts, etc
  • Maintain connection with inactive prospects
  • Seek opportunities via RFP resources
  • Create and maintain professional LinkedIn page
  • Conduct preliminary prospect/category research
  • Coordinate internal prospect development team
  • Schedule, plan and conduct agency credential meetings
Agency Public Relations
  • Posting on our blog, as well as on other blogs that are frequented by our prospects.
  • Maintain active LinkedIn accounts. Promote content through social media.
  • Attend conferences and events relevant to prospects
  • Secure speaking/sponsorship opportunities

Performance Metrics::

Establish and achieve the following performance measures:
  • Number of contacts per month as recorded in WMJ
  • Number of active qualified leads
  • New client revenue growth (sales)
  • Increase networking events
  • Increase business opportunities

Qualifications:

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or Business
Experience
  • 10+ years sales experience with an agency
  • Understanding of branding, marketing, finance and business processes
  • Familiarity with traditional and digital media
  • Comfortable interpreting data into meaningful insights
Skills
  • Team player
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Entrepreneurial, resourceful and creative
  • Excellent presentation and writing skills
  • Able to foster solid personal relationships
  • Well-networked and adept at social communication tools
  • Ability to multitask
